We’re approaching the end of 2023, the year in which Hubspot relaunched Sales Hub with dozens of new sales tools. During such a busy year, it’d be easy to forget just how much HubSpot’s sequences tool has evolved. In this year-end recap, we’ll unveil five must-see updates that might have flown under your radar, as well as flag two exciting betas that you may want to sign up for!
1. Sequences Emails – A/B Testing
One highly requested feature that has revolutionized sequences is the introduction of A/B testing. Now you can conduct A/B tests on different versions of email steps within your sequence and easily analyze the performance of each variant. This powerful tool has empowered HubSpot users to refine their outreach strategies and drive even better results.

2. Step-Level Analytics
Unlock the power of granular insights. Now, you can delve into the success rate of each individual step within your sequence. This level of visibility allows for pinpointing areas of improvement and refining your sequences to maximize engagement and conversions.

3. Meeting Attribution
We expanded our meeting attribution feature. Meetings booked through a meeting link during a sequence were already accounted for, but now we also include meetings booked outside of a meetings link, as well as meetings booked within 7 days after a sequence has ended. All meetings, whether booked during a call or after an email reply, are now correctly attributed to the corresponding sequence and step.

4. Selective Email Threading
We introduced selective email threading in sequences. This much-anticipated feature allows you to have more control over your email communication. You can now choose which emails in a sequence reply to a previous email and which start a new thread in the prospect’s inbox. With this flexibility, you can deliver more personalized and organized communication that resonates with your prospects.

5. Multiple Steps per Day
Sequences now support immediate task steps within the same day, streamlining the execution of multi-touch steps. Whether it’s making a phone call and immediately following up with a manual email, or any other combination, you can seamlessly execute multiple steps per day. This enhancement simplifies your outreach strategies, making it easier to engage with prospects and drive conversions.

6. Workflow Sequence Enrollment Based on Contact Owner
Enrolling contacts in sequences through workflows is getting even more powerful with this update. Instead of needing complex branching logic to set the sender of automatic emails in sequences, you can now dynamically set the sender based on the contact owner in workflows. This enhancement saves time and makes the process more straightforward for large teams.
This serves as an update to the “Enroll in a sequence” action in Workflows, which is available in Sales and Service Hub Professional+. Sign Up for the Beta here.
7. Bulk Enroll contacts into Sequences from Salesforce
For Salesforce users, we have a significant efficiency boost with our HubSpot Chrome extension. Bulk enroll contacts in sequences, send emails, make calls, and view HubSpot records directly from within Salesforce. Experience a seamless workflow and reduce the need to switch between platforms.
